U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping will not speak on Tuesday, a U.S. official told the Wall Street Journal, contrary to what trade adviser Peter Navarro said earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, China has announced retaliatory tariffs on US goods in response to Washington's latest trade measures. Beijing will impose a 15 per cent tariff on imports of coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the US, following the American government's decision to impose 10 per cent tariffs on Chinese goods, Al Jazeera reported.

The U.S. Postal Service’s decision may block or delay parcels from retailers including Shein and Temu from entering the United States.
