The Council voted to approve One45, the name of a $600 million roughly 1,000-unit complex from developer Bruce Teitelbaum, at its Monday meeting. The body was largely expected to approve the project after it won the support of local Councilman Yusef Salaam in June, but its path forward until then seemed anything but assured.

Numerous flash floods had been reported across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, closing roads and highways, submerging cars, and stranding motorists, according to the National Weather Service. Metro-North reported suspensions of service on part of the Harlem line, and some delays on the New Haven line, as well, which has since been reopened.
Some major highways remained partially closed or restricted late Monday, including the Cross Bronx Expressway, Harlem River Drive and the Staten Island Expressway, according to city emergency officials. Flooding forced a traffic detour on the George Washington Bridge ramp to the Harlem River Drive.
The event is slated for Aug 9, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at the intersection of 109th Street and 5th Avenue, where the street will be officially co-named “Isaac ‘Fatman Scoop’ Freeman III Place.” In attendance will be the Grammy Award winner’s friends and family alongside local leaders, community members, and fans.
