A little girl from Whittier, Calif., wrote a letter to her dead father on a balloon and released it into the sky. The message touched hearts 400 miles away in NorCal.

The post was a celebration of William’s 41st birthday, also Wednesday, and was captioned “Wishing The Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today! 🎈” jaunty balloon emoji included.

Saturday Night Live kicked off its latest episode with an exclusive interview with the downed balloon, played by cast member Bowen Yang.
