Bayley said he regularly attends services at two of downtown Wilmington's largest churches, St. James Episcopal and First Presbyterian, and that both have sizable and active congregations.

Taken together, the decisions have resulted in more than 100 defections by conservative-leaning congregations, including White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church in Newark and Lewes Presbyterian Church.
