Last month, over 1 million vehicles passed through the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel, and CDOT is expecting at least 1 million more this month.

As thousands are expected to hit the slopes over President's Day weekend, the Colorado Department of Transportation said travel through the mountains will be hazardous.

CDOT said travelers in the mountains need to be prepared as snowfall continues to accumulate in the area. Skiers and hockey players living in the high country say the snow is welcome.
