Chevrolet tossed its cap into the NASCAR EV crossover stock car ring on Thursday with the unveiling of the Blazer EV.R prototype ahead of this weekend’s Daytona 500. Like the Ford Mustang Mach-E stock car unveiled in January,

Like the Ford, and like NASCAR's unbranded prototype, the three-motor setup makes the Blazer EV.R all-wheel drive. Those motors draw from a 78-kWh liquid-cooled battery, which is stored inside a modified Next Gen chassis. The car's suspension is also taken from that car, another common feature with the other two demonstrators.

Chevrolet reportedly is discontinuing the ICE model while featuring the EV version. The Blazer SS EV will pace the Daytona 500.
