Jimmy Carter, 39th president of the United States, was a bestselling author in a wide range of genres. His stories drew from his own experience, the lives of his loved ones and the causes he fought for his whole life.

The son of the late President Gerald Ford delivered a posthumous eulogy that his father wrote to deliver at the memorial service for former President Jimmy Carter. Ford died in 2006.

Mr. Carter said his spiritual rebirth was an “evolutionary thing” rather than “a flash of light or a sudden vision of God speaking.”
