MUNICH, Germany (Reuters) -Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich are not short of motivation going into the Klassiker against visitors Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, coach Vincent Kompany said on Friday, with his team desperate to bounce back from a midweek Champions League loss.

The Champions League is not doing Der Klassiker any favors. Bayern Munich hosts Borussia Dortmund on Saturday for what has traditionally been one of the Bundesliga’s showpiece games of the season, but both rivals are smarting after chastening Champions League defeats and preoccupied by how they might continue in Europe’s premier competition.

One of the biggest rivalries in soccer takes center stage on Saturday when Bundesliga foes Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund renew their long-standing feud known simply as Der Klassiker ("The Classic" in German).
