A Georgia police officer was shot and killed while responding to a call near a shopping center in an Atlanta suburb, officials confirmed.

The Roswell police officer responded to a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot of a pickleball club when he was shot.

According to the GBI, when the officer approached the suspect for questioning, Espinoza allegedly pulled a handgun and fired multiple shots at the officer. A witness called 911 and the responding officers arrested Espinoza. The officer was taken to a local hospital but died from their injuries. The officer's identity has not been released.
