Padres shortstop Xander Bogaerts sent a deep fly to left field that ended up in the seats and was initially ruled a home run. It appeared to have slipped out of Giants left fielder Heliot Ramos ' glove and into the seats.
Xander Bogaerts had a home run taken off the board Monday night after a disputed fan-interference ruling -- a run that ultimately proved decisive in the Padres’ 4-3 series-opening loss to the Giants at Petco Park.
The Padres’ losing streak reached four games in part as a result of the play reversal. San Diego dropped to two games out of first place.
Though the fan didn't make contact with the ball or Heliot Ramos, a review resulted in an interference call that negated a homer.
