Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick Shemar Stewart has been in contact with his teammates despite not participating at training camp during his contract dispute with the team. On the same day Bengals players took part in training camp practice, Stewart apparently texted at least one teammate.

Shemar Stewart's contractual holdout with the Cincinnati Bengals has lingered to the start of training camp and the team's front office personnel want to see the first-round pick suiting up sooner rather than later.

The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing to enter training camp this week despite still being at odds with two prominent pieces of their defense in sack leader Trey Hendrickson and rookie first-round pick Shemar Stewart.
