(WJW) – Lingering snow and bitterly cold temperatures have prompted some school closings and delays. Most are reported in FOX 8’s south and west viewing areas, such as Ashland, Carroll, Holmes, Tuscarawas, and Wayne counties. CLICK HERE to see the complete list.

Some schools have reported two-hour delays this morning. No schools have closed thus far. We will continue to update the list as information is received. Information on closings comes directly from school officials, school websites and news reports.

Washington, D.C. (Thursday, January 9, 2025) – Black ice is making for another day of closings and delays for youngsters across the DMV. Here’s a look at Day 4 of the aftermath of the snowstorm and how it’s impacting youngsters across the region.

"All Austin ISD schools and offices will operate on normal schedules Thursday, Jan. 9, but due to rain and cold temperatures, all afterschool outdoor athletic activities will be canceled and any other outdoor activities will move indoors," Austin ISD wrote on Facebook.
