Sporadic confrontations broke out again Saturday in the heavily Latino satellite city of Paramount, south of Los Angeles, the second day of clashes between hundreds of protesters and federal immigration authorities in riot gear.

President Donald Trump has signed a presidential memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to disperse protests over immigration activity in the Los Angeles area, the White House said in a statement Saturday night.
