MINNEAPOLIS — Congresswoman Ilhan Omar came out swinging against the MN DFL after the state party decided to overturn the endorsement of progressive mayoral candidate Omar Fateh. The congresswoman called the decision "inexcusable" in a post on X.

The DFL's move to revoke the endorsement of state Sen. Omar Fateh by the local Minneapolis party unit for the city's mayoral race has sparked backlash.

Fateh, a democratic socialist, won the Minneapolis DFL endorsement in July over Mayor Jacob Frey. Though his victory raised his profile in the race, it also drew dozens of challenges from his opponents over allegations of delays and miscounted votes.
