Ford Bronco Sport and Maverick Are Recalled to Fix Faulty Batteries
The problem is due to a manufacturing defect in 12-volt starter batteries used in these vehicles. To fix the problem, Ford dealerships will replace them with new absorbed glass mat (AGM) batteries, free of charge. Owners who already paid for new batteries out of pocket will be eligible for reimbursement from the automaker.
Ford recalls over 270,000 cars in US over battery issues
Ford has recalled some 272,817 vehicles over the risk of battery failure. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed the action, which impacts certain models of the Bronco Sport SUVs (2021-2023) and Maverick pickup trucks (2022-2023).
