Reactions rolled out on the news that MSNBC is getting a new name, MS NOW, and a new logo that drops the peacock symbolism.
The network will rebrand as MS NOW as a result of its move from Comcast to Versant. As a result, MS NOW and other channels involved in the move will lose their NBC peacock logo, as Comcast owns NBCUniversal.
And the new MS moniker could also cause some confusion with an emerging digital product tied to NBC News. NBC News Now is an ad-supported streaming service that has gradually expanded its hours and features shows led not only by “NBC Nightly News” anchor Tom Llamas, but also Hallie Jackson and Gadi Schwartz.

The change, announced on Monday, comes as MSNBC has been building its own news division, as NBC News will no longer be a sister outlet following the spinoff. MSNBC and other Comcast cable networks will be part of a separate company, Versant, led by Mark Lazarus.
