The Right to IVF bill intends to provide a nationwide right to IVF treatment but was blocked by Senate Republicans this week. Republicans say bill was a “cynical show vote."

The US Senate is expected to hold a vote on Tuesday on a bill that would guarantee access to in vitro fertilization nationwide –- a move that comes as Democrats seek to pressure Republicans over the issue in the run-up to the November elections.

In vitro fertilization, used to treat infertility, has come become a political issue in 2024. A U.S. Senate bill protecting the procedure failed.
