The school is asking that parents are diligent in knowing and explaining the consequences that will follow if their student is found with a gun on campus.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Friday marks the end of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ clear backpack pilot program. Selected schools across the state’s largest school district have been requiring students to use clear backpacks for the last several weeks.

A man was arrested on charges of sexual battery in Gwinnett County after he allegedly groped a woman at a supermarket in December. The Gwinnett County Police department said a female victim was shopping at a supermarket when a male approached her, began complimenting her and then groped her and fled the scene.

A Parkview High School students was arrested Thursday for bringing a gun to the school, according to Gwinnett County Public Schools officials.
