To avoid an apparent risk of sudden failure, Ford is replacing the 12-volt batteries in the impacted vehicles.

Batteries could “suddenly fail” in some recalled Ford cars, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

More than 272,000 Ford Bronco Sport and Ford Maverick vehicles are being recalled because their 12-volt batteries may fail unexpectedly while driving.

The vehicles were made between February 2021 and October 2022, when Ford stopped using those specific batteries.
