With another tight NL West division race looming, the Dodgers didn’t wait to act aggressively this week, resulting in the team moving on from Austin Barnes and Chris Taylor.

The Dodgers sent a message to the 34-year-old veteran with a post on their official Instagram account. "Thank you Chris for bringing two championships to LA, all the unforgettable moments on and off the field and everything you’ve done for the city of Los Angeles," the caption read.

Even winning two World Series titles — and delivering in some clutch moments along the way — doesn’t guarantee a roster spot with the Dodgers anymore.

Backup catcher Austin Barnes, who had been in the big leagues with the Dodgers since 2015, was designated for assignment on Wednesday to make way for top prospect Dalton Rushing.
