Residents on the western side of the Des Moines metro may have heard a prolonged and loud noise flying overhead on Tuesday evening. Residents took to social media platforms like Reddit and Nextdoor to speculate on the noise.
The SOCATA TBM7 plane crashed in Brooklyn Park around 12:20 p.m. Saturday, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The aircraft departed Des Moines International Airport and was headed to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis, according to the agency.
The Des Moines International Airport announced Wednesday it is adding a new non-stop flight to LAX. It's an American Airlines route. The airport says with this addition it will be back to a record-breaking 33 non-stop destinations. The route launches in October. Tickets are available for purchase starting Monday.
