Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn met with the media for the first time since it was revealed the team had made running back Brian Robinson Jr. available via trade. Quinn didn't get into the details of Robinson's situation, other than to say, "News like that’s always not easy."
Jayden Daniels only played one series in the Commanders' preseason game against the Bengals Monday but he still made an impression.
In the only passing play on the four-play, 74-yard drive, the Commanders quarterback scrambled for a 14-yard touchdown. It was enough for coach Dan Quinn, who likely held his breath as Bengals safety Jordan Battle briefly looked like he was going to have a chance for a hard hit on Daniels.
Daniels danced out of the pocket and scrambled for a 14-yard touchdown to cap his preseason performance against the Bengals after just four plays.
In the Commanders' second preseason game, we also learned the safety corps is deep and John Bates is a blocking weapon.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Saturday that Daniels and most of the starters will play "a few series" during Monday's preseason matchup against the Bengals, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
