Two Chicago Transit Authority trains were evacuated following the derailment of a Yellow Line train at Howard station.

Chicago police said a 37-year-old man was attacked by a group of five or six people on a CTA Red Line train overnight.

CHICAGO ( WGN) — A 9-year-old boy has died after he fell down a flight of stairs and fractured his skull during a violent altercation at a CTA Green Line station. The medical examiner confirmed Elijah Flores died from blunt force injuries to the head. His death is considered a homicide.

For the first time, the Chicago Transit Authority is providing data about which buses have been canceled each day so they don't show up as "scheduled" buses in tracking apps.

A death investigation is underway after a man ended up on the CTA tracks in downtown Chicago on Monday morning. Chicago police said the man was electrocuted by the third rail at the State and Lake station, but the circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown at this time. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CTA is expanding its “Frequent Network" with more routes in which wait times for a bus will only last 10 minutes or less.
