Chávez Jr. was sent to Mexico, where he’s wanted for alleged cartel ties, following his arrest in the U.S. for overstaying his visa and lying on a green card application.

Boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. is in a Mexican prison after being deported from the United States. Chávez was arrested in the U.S. last month and accused of cartel involvement.

The fighter, arrested by U.S. agents last month shortly after a loss to Jake Paul, was sent to his native Mexico, where a warrant for his arrest has been outstanding since 2023.
