Xbox's next Call of Duty title has just kicked off Gamescom Opening Night Live, with Black Ops 7 finally getting a formal release date. The series' upcoming futuristic entry launches on Xbox Game Pass on November 14th - and we have fresh details of a free beta as well.
Black Ops 7 takes place in the year 2035 and features futuristic weapons and gear. Additionally, Black Ops 7 has a new "Overlock" system that allows players to further augment their loadouts. Beyond that, the Omnimovement system from Black Ops 6 is back in Black Ops 7, and it's beefed up with a wall-jumping ability.
Gamescom 2025 officially begins with the Opening Night Live show in the evening of August 19, 2025. The trade fair, held at the Koelnmesse exhibition center in Cologne, will then open its doors the following day on August 20, though only for trade visitors, members of the media, creators, and other specific ticket holders.
