Since Day 1 of his rookie year in 2019, erstwhile New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso has been one of the most productive power hitters in the game. Only Aaron Judge has hit more home runs since 2019 and only Marcus Semien has played more games.

The Yankees and Mets could be going after the same first baseman this offseason — and his name is not Pete Alonso. According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, “there are at least six teams who plan to aggressively pursue” free agent first baseman Christian Walker.

There are expected to be many teams looking to bring in the four-team MLB All-Star entering his age-30 season, and there is no clear favorite to be Alonso’s next team.
