Sorry folks - just realised the bamboo alley I was thinking of visiting is in Cairns . Many thanks for all replies.

There is always something to look at all year round. It is a spectacular location, highly recommend this park anytime of the year.

Yes, there is a free 935 bus from the city which drops you off right at the park and the same number bus returns you to the city.
